Other areas that can be focused on in a one-day event

Managing change, team leadership, conflict resolution, assertiveness, communication, decision making and listening skills. Within a one-day event we advise against deep personal analysis or serious interpersonal issues.

Teams gain general insights and can reflect on their every day life from a distance. Frequently, teams forge agreements or charters on general issues of behaviour, culture or attitude.

Outline of a One-Day Event

All activities are designed to match the physical and intellectual abilities of the delegates. A sample timetable is shown below but we offer a bespoke design for each group. Our ethos is “Challenge by Choice”. We respect the right of the individual to decline taking part in a specific activity.

Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI)

SDI is a relatively simple questionnaire, which highlights how an individual’s values influence their behaviours. It provides an easily understood introduction to team dynamics and is a vehicle for open discussion. It emphasises the value of diversity within the team and promotes mutual respect between team members.

Costs

The cost of the event includes all activities, specialist equipment, buffet lunch, refreshments and tuition. Events can be for fun only, light teambuilding with gentle reviews or more in-depth reviews and can include team charters, individual action plans and personal profiling.

Sample Timetable for a One-Day Teambuilding Event

• Arrival, tea/coffee, homemade biscuits.
• 09:30 Day begins, Introductions, briefing & icebreakers.
• 10:00 Team Based projects with appropriate reviews.
• 12:30 Buffet Lunch.
• 13:30 Outdoor Team Activities or indoor challenge
• 15:00 Refreshment Break.
• 15:15 Final team challenge – a more complex, multifaceted challenge to consolidate the learning.
• 16:15 Celebrating Success – Bubbly & Team Cake.
• 16.30 Final Review & Charter

The programme can include more outdoor activities or it can focus on teamwork with indoor and outdoor tasks demanding little physical effort. Many companies make use of our Indoor Conference and Meeting Room facilities, for Team Meetings, adding the dimension of Reward and Motivation with an afternoon programme of Outdoor Activities.

Hilltop are happy to provide an away day at a venue of your choice or to supplement / enliven team meetings.

Public Liability Insurance

Hilltop has public liability insurance of £5 million through BAHA. We require all delegates to complete a Personal Information Form before attending so that we are aware of individual requirements.
